It is also highly soluble and contributes to improve the texture, feeling and stability of food, so it can easily be incorporated into a wide variety of products such as dairy products, cereal, baked goods, and meat.
Due to its fast assimilation into the human body it is recommended for daily consumption. We have powdered inulin which can be ingested directly as a fiber supplement, providing great nutritional and health benefits.

| |
Inulin is a polysaccharide produced by many plants, including the agave plant, which has one of the largest concentrations of polysaccharides. In addition to being a polysaccharide, inulin is a functional ingredient, a functional food, defined as a "Non digestible ingredient which benefits the body by stimulating the growth and activity of beneficial bacteria for the intestinal flora".
|
|
It can be ingested in food supplements or through foods that contain it; Lactobacilli are an example of functional ingredient, they are commonly found in yogurt, but the disadvantage of this type of functional ingredient is their short lifecycle due to the processes that they undergo during testing and the time spent when it is on store shelves or cooling. |
